It’s hard to see the birds at the feeders on the webcam, so I thought I would try filming a close up. So, yesterday I setup the Gopro camera to take a still image every 2 seconds, and then put them all together. As you will see, we have Goldfinch, Purple Finch, Chickadees, and Red-breasted nuthatch regularly visiting the feeders. It starts kind of slow, but picks up about a minute in to the video.
Unfortunately we have been having some issues with our internet connection. Without a good connection our webcam and weather station are unable to upload to the website. Comcast was here today and found water in the line coming from the street. They were able to get it going again, but service has been off and on since they were here. The technician is going to put in a work order to replace the line sometime this week. Hopefully we will be back up and running within a few days.
Windy and cold with snow in the air pretty much sums up today’s weather at Island Pond. Our high for the day was reached just after 12:00 am at 30.7 degrees. Temps dropped off from there remaining in the lower 20’s all day.
Here’s the NWS forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
