Snow slowly disappearing in the NEK.

Not much melting today with temperatures in the upper 20’s to low 30’s in the Northeast Kingdom. However, the past few days have seen high temperatures in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s throughout the region. On Monday we reached 57° here in Island Pond! That was the warmest temperature we have seen since a warm day back in December. Unfortunately there is a price to be paid for the warm weather, and that comes in the form of mud. Some of the back roads are in rough shape and may not be passable without 4 wheel drive.

Spring has arrived in the NEK!

We’ve finally had some spring like weather here in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. On Tuesday the high temperature got up to 45°. Wednesday was even warmer reaching 51° here in Island pond. Yesterday was a lot cooler with temps only getting up in to the mid 30’s. We also haven’t been below zero at night for over a week!

Despite the recent warming, there is still a lot of snow pack in the region.
