December 12, 2013 update

We had some snow squalls come through the Northeast Kingdom yesterday afternoon that resulted in a few inches of new snow.  Here in Island Pond we had a quick burst that produced 2″ in less than an hour. We now have just under 3″ on the ground.  You can always see the current conditions in Island Pond by pointing your browser to our Webcam http://nekwx.com/?page_id=35

The forecast is calling for another cold front to come through the region tonight resulting in more flurries and squalls.  There is also a potential storm in the forecast for Saturday night in to Sunday that may produce 3-6 inches of snow.

It was a white Thanksgiving Day here in Island Pond. We awoke to 3″ of fresh snow yesterday morning. It was lightly snowing / flurries for most of the morning. With the fresh coating of snow temps dropped back in to the single numbers this morning,  It has been mostly sunny today with highs in the upper teens. I’ll end this post with an image from the webcam this afternoon.

Well, we’ve had a mixed bag of weather over the past 24 hours. It started out with light snow yesterday afternoon / evening. We had piked up around 3″ of snow by the time I turned in last night. When I got up at 6am it had already changed to rain. Rain fell most of the day. Late this afternoon it changed to a mix of sleet and freezing rain. Shortly after it changed to snow. It’s currently snowing lightly at 7:45 while writing this blog post. The forecast is calling for 1-3 inches of snow overnight.

I was able to getthe webcam up yesterday and it is uploading to the internet. You can view the live image by pointing your browser here:
