Yesterday was a wet day throughout the NEK. It started out with freezing rain and quickly changed to rain as temps shot up to 50 degrees. Today is a little more winter like with flurries and light snow falling with a temp of 32°.

Messy mix headed our way 1/5/14
After a chilly -25° low yesterday we managed to was up in to the teens above zero yesterday. Last night was rather mild compared to the night before with a low of 11° above. At 10:30 am the temp is 19°. We are expecting a mix bag of precipitation overnight changing to all rain as the low pressure system goes by to our west. The rain should change back over to snow tomorrow afternoon as the front passes the area.
More snow for NEK 12/26/13
Sorry I haven’t had a chance to post lately. Now that Christmas is behind us, I hope to get back to posting more updates.
Christmas 2013 was rather uneventful weather wise. It was on the cold side, but the sun was out for most of the day. Today we saw a light snow fall for most of the day here in Island Pond. We have received 4″ of new snow as of 6pm. I’ve seen several reports from around the NEK of 3-6 inches of snow from this little system. With temps in the teens today, the snow is very light and fluffy. The NWS forecast has a chance of snow showers for the next several days.
I’ll end this post with a recent image from our Island Pond webcam.
