Time to spring forward

As forecast,  yesterday was a beautiful day in the NEK of VT. We finally got above freezing with a high of 38° here in Island Pond.  It was a great day to be outside enjoying the warmer weather and bright sunshine!

Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight as we begin daylight savings time.

Another cold morning

It was another cold start to the day in Vermont, especially in the NEK. Temperatures were well below zero at every weather station I checked this morning.  We bottomed out at -23.6° here in Island Pond. We even made the news this morning as one of the coldest spots in VT on ABC 22.

After a sunny start to the day we are expecting clouds to increase throughout the day with flurries and snow squalls overnight as another front moves through with a dusting to a couple of inches expected. I will leave you with this image of a sumny morning from our webcam.

Still cold, milder end of the week

The below normal temperatures just don’t want to quit this winter.  This mornings low in Island Pond was -16.8. Today’s highs are expected to be in the single numbers.  However,  milder temps are expected later this week. On the plus side, the March sun is very strong. I was just outside with the dog and even at 6 degrees the sun felt warm on my face.

We have not gotten much in the way of snowfall lately with the storm track to our south, just an inch or two here and there with the passing of these cold fronts.
