The past several days haven’t been exceptionally hot, but dew points in the low to mid 60s have made it kind of muggy in the NEK. We’ve also seen some spotty heavy rain and thunderstorms in some areas. On Monday morning I was woken by a passing thunderstorm at 5:30 AM. The storm dropped .79 inches of rain here in Island Pond. I spoke to a friend that lives near Coles Pond in Walden and he said that they only had a few sprinkles. So, the storms are certainly hit or miss. I was expecting to see more rain last night as the cold front passed, but things were faily calm with a few spotty showers in the region. Here in Island Pond we only got .01″ of precipitation. Today has been partly sunny with temps in the upper 60s. The dew points have also been falling since the cold front passed through.
The uupcoming forcast is calling for unsettled weather through tomorrow with a chance of showers. The weekend I
is looking fantastic with sunny skies and temps in the mid to upper 70s throughout the Northeast Kingdom.
Here’s a recent image from our webcam. If you look at the grass in the foreground you will notice several yellow leaves. I’m not sure what is going on, but several of our birch trees have been dropping leaves over the past several days.
