Some of the weaker trees are starting to show some signs of whats about to come here in the Northeast Kingdom of VT, Fall Foliage Season! My favorite time of year! The following 2 photographs were taken this afternoon on VT Rte. 105, near the Moose viewing platform between Island Pond and Bloomfield. Perfect spot for some early morning Moose / Fall Foliage photography 😉

Back to a Fall feel
After several warm summer days in the NEK we are back to cooler weather. Today has only warmed up to 63° so far. In Island Pond, and I doubt it will get much higher today. Tonight’s lows are forecast to be in the 40s to low 50s throughout the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Tomorrow should rebound to the mid 60s to low 70s The upcoming Labor Day weekend doesn’t look to be a complete washout, but will be unsettled with a chance of showers.
Hard to believe it’s Labor Day already. In just 4 more weeks the region should be ablaze in near peek foliage. As you can see in our webcam image below, we even have a few birch leaves dropping on the lawn in the foreground.
Summer returns to the NEK
After a long stretch of fall like weather, summer has returned to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The high temperature so far today, Sunday, is 78° in Island Pond, VT. Coupled with a nice breeze, it’s a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy all that the region has to offer.
This week’s forecast is calling for more summer weather with highs in the 70s and maybe even a few lower 80s in some spots in the NEK. Get out there and enjoy it as fall is fast approaching. There was even snow falling in the mountains of Montana this weekend. As you can see in the following photo taken this afternoon in our yard in Island Pond, fall will be here before long.
