Rain showers followed by beautiful weekend

Today has been on the cool side with temps in the 50’s throughout the NEK. We’ve picked up .18 inches so far today. Rain showers are in the forecast for today and Friday.  The upcoming weekend is looking to be very nice with mostly sunny skies forecast for both Saturday and Sunday.  Temperatures on Saturday should be right around 70° and Sunday should be a little warmer with highs in the mid 70’s..

Here’s a look at the temperature graph over the past 7 days fro our weather station.   Our high was on Sunday at 81.3 and the low was on Wednesday morning at  42.5°

Beautiful weekend in the NEK

It’s hard to get much better weather than we had over the past weekend in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  On Saturday we had mostly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid 70’s with just enough of a breeze to keep the black flies and mosquitos at bay. Temps quickly fell back through the 60’s – 50’s soon after the sun went down. Sunday was a little warmer with temperatures reaching the upper 70’s to low to mid 80’s throughout the region. We really couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to enjoy the outdoors in Island Pond, VT!

On aanother note,  I’m going to try to adjust the webcam today to show a little more of the sky. Now that the leaves are on the trees it’s hard to see on the camera if the skies are blue, or if it’s cloudy.

Decent day in NEK

Today turned out to be nicer than I had expected in Island Pond, and the rest of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  Clouds did win out late in the day, but the sun was out most of the day, with temps in the low to mid 70’s. As this map shows, the same can not be said to our east in NH and western ME where it was 10°-15° cooler at 6pm.
