Now that August is in the books I thought I would put together a weather summary from the data collected with my weather station here in Island Pond, VT.
The high temperature for the month was 84.6 °F on the 11th. The low for August was 43.7 °F on the 9th. The station recorded 4.26″ of rain for the month.

Some areas of Vermont as well as the rest of the northeast have been very warm this summer. We have had some warm spells here in the Northeast Kingdom, too. Here in Island Pond my weather station has recorded a high temperature of 86.5°F back on July 13th.

With the days getting shorter, we should start to see much cooler mornings. That will soon transition in to my favorite time of year, FALL.
Temperatures in the NEK have warmed up over the past week. As you can see on the graph our weather station recorded a high of 68.3°F on Sunday.
With the warmer weather I’m happy to report that the ice is out on Island Pond, as well as Spectacle Pond.
